IMPLEMENTING SAFE QUALITY FOOD (SQF) SYSTEMS
American Food Safety Services' Certified Practitioner workshop utilizes the latest Safe Quality Food Institute’s (SQFI) training material, plus our own extensive experience with 19 different categories of processed food and distribution networks. Attendees at the workshop must have completed a HACCP training course with a minimum of 16 hours of classroom contact time, and received a certificate based upon demonstrated subject matter comprehension.
The workshop meets the training and certification requirements established by SQFI for Certified Practitioners. Successful completion of the workshop will enable participants to pass the certification examination offered by the SQFI. Through our efforts and link to the SQFI, we are able to provide attendees discounted examination fees compared to other public training classes.
Additionally, we train with small, intimate classes (12 - 15 students) which promotes interactions among attendees. Based upon the background and food safety categories represented by the class attendees, we are able to include a wide range of practical examples to demonstrate how to meet the requirements of the SQF Code. Larger public training venues actually restrict learning because they inhibit group interaction and prevent the individual mentoring essential in adult learning. Additionally, trainers from many larger centers lack direct, hand's on experience with food processing so essential when it comes to actually understanding the audit requirements. The on-line training for SQF Practitioners is primarily an exercise in reading the slides - few if any practical examples or explanation of document design and audit requirements are presented.
Successful completion of the AFSS SQF Practitioner workshop and SQF on-line test, will provide companies with the personnel skills needed to develop and implement required SQF system documents and to understand the on-site facility evaluation techniques used by SQF auditors. When completed and properly followed, the guidance available from this workshop should result in SQF certification. Click here to register.
